Clutch Fork Tools

This is a collection of 3D printed tools to help with the poorly designed clutch fork and shaft installation in the Porsche 996 Turbo (2001-2005) and Porsche 997.1 Turbo (2006-2009).

It helps address the following issues:

Clutch Fork to Pressure Plate retention

Rather than using the infamous tape method to hold the clutch fork to the pressure plate, this kit uses a small low profile retention clip with multiple neodymium magnets to secure the fork in place.  Once the transmission is mated to the engine the retention clip is extracted through the slave cylinder port.

Losing hardware and tools in the bellhousing shaft port

If you drop a bolt, bracket or tool while installing the clutch fork shaft it inevitably falls into the bellhousing causing you to either remove the transmission or spend hours trying to fish it out with scopes and magnets.

This kit includes a guard that bolts into the opening and prevents items from falling into the bellhousing.

Clutch fork shaft removal assist tool

Removing the clutch fork shaft can sometimes seem impossible.  Getting a grip on the plastic end cap can be very challenging.

In addition to my advice of using two position slip joint pliers (in the open position) around the outer perimeter of the cap (not the small bracket nub in the middle) you can also use this tool to help push the shaft out via the starter hole.

Clutch fork aligning pins

Typically the clutch fork doesn't align with the fork shaft bosses making it difficult to insert the fork shaft.  The aligning pins can help get the fork into the right position for shaft insertion.  It includes both a center pin and offset pin.  The offset pin can help lift the fork up into position.

This is used in combination with the Fork Alignment Holder.

Clutch fork alignment holder

This tool helps hold the clutch fork in place when you remove the aligning pin.  It inserts and locks into the clutch slave cylinder port and helps hold the fork in position through the use of multiple neodymium magnets.  This allows you to more easily insert the clutch fork shaft through the bosses and fork
